It’s up to youYou and you alone are responsible for your own life. It’s up to you to make the decisions you need to move from victim to victor of your life. Maybe something happened to you that you feel is unforgivable, perhaps it was something that was said, it might be a business problem or a personal problem, but you have to make the choice to either let it bring you down or to learn from it and move on. Taking responsibility for your choices let’s you choose how you respond to the challenges you face. Taking responsibility also changes your energy. Your thoughts, feelings, words and actions are all energy. Here’s a few ways where you can take responsibility for your self. 💭 Your thoughts, feelings & actionsBy taking responsibility for your thoughts, and accepting that they are thoughts that you have created, whether good or bad, how you feel will be affected by those thoughts. 🛑 Stop blamingIf a driver cuts in front of you and you get angry, that’s your choice. If you feel frustrated because something isn’t going the way you planned, that’s your choice. It’s not the driver who cut in front or you or the person who changed the plans fault. You made the decision to feel that way in that moment. So stop blaming, your parents, partner, work colleagues for how you feel. 🛑 Stop complaining Complaining is another form of blaming and being a victim. It shows you focus on what you don’t have so you come from a place of lack. Things do go wrong. Learn from it. 🛑 Stop taking everything personally. This was a big thing for me, if someone didn’t want to meet up or do something with me I saw it as they didn’t like me or being around me. If people say something to you or disagree with you don’t take it as a personal attack. You don’t have control over those people, you only have control over how you respond. Instead of assuming it’s about you ask yourself “is this about me, or about the situation, or is there something else this person is going through” 😃 Make yourself happyBe responsible for your own happiness. Happiness is an inside job. It’s not the job of your parents, partner, boss, friends, dog, child to make you happy. Listen to music you love, go to places that you like being, do acts of kindness. You do what makes you happy. Take a moment, close your eyes, and think of what it is you want in your life and notice the shift in your energy. Marina

The best way to get rid of anxiety You can’t completely get rid of anxiety. Anxiety is an emotional response to a situation, but you can learn to control it. You need some level of anxiety to keep us safe. It’s your fight or flight response in certain situations. But when it goes out of control and you have very high levels of anxiety that it’s when you need to learn to control it. There are many different ways of controlling anxiety and some of the more common ways are,Exercise 🏋🏻⛹🏻♀️🤾🏻♀️. Sometimes when you have high levels of anxiety your body shakes, it’s the adrenaline in your body kicking in. That’s it preparing you to run 🏃♀️or fight. So by exercising it’s a great way to learn to calm your body down and use that adrenaline. Find an exercise that works for you and one that you enjoy. Doing this will help give some relief. Meditation 🧘♀️. Meditation and mindfulness helps calm your mind and focus on the here and now. It’s not always easy to begin with but the more you practice it it gets better. It can train your mind to not create that overwhelming chatter that goes on and creates the anxiety and will give you some relief. Journaling 📔. Either first thing in the morning to help you have a clear head for the start of your day or last thing at night so you can get those unwanted thoughts out before going to sleep. Therapy 🪑. There are many different kinds of therapy out there and what works for one might not work for another. What had no effect on someone might not have a huge effect on someone else. Exercise, mediating and journal all help to relive anxiety but therapy is the only one that deals with the cause of the anxiety. Something happened to you and you learnt something in that time that has created high levels of anxiety. Therapy gives you an understanding of why it started and also why it doesn’t have to continue. It’s not about digging up the past, the old stuff that got you where you are. The work I do can be done content free. It also requires you to do some of the work, to make the changes. It’s not a magic pill 💊 or magic wand 🪄. If you want you learn how to change how your mind responds to things and to control anxiety then get in touch. Marina

Does anxiety go away?We all have anxiety it keeps us safe in many situations, but when you constantly focus on being anxious then that’s a different thing. What you focus on grows, so if you focus on anxiety then guess what, yup, you got it, you’ll get more anxiety. It’s like looking through a magnifying glass, when you use it to focus on anything it makes it bigger. Not only that but if you hold a magnifying glass pointing at the sun and what you’re looking at, say paper, then it will begin to burn it. Anxiety not only causes emotional problems but can cause physical problems too, because you’re focusing on the feelings of anxiety. Once you stop putting focus on anxiety and focus more on the things that bring you happiness, then yes it can go away. I work with clients to help them let go of that constant state of anxiety so they can focus more on the things that make them feel good. Marina

Take a step backHave you ever noticed how kids stand too close to the TV? 📺 Standing so close to the TV is probably not being too good for their eyes, but it also means they’re not seeing the bigger picture. Perhaps you did it as a kid and remember your mum saying “get back from the TV, you’re too close”. This is something that so many of you do in life too, you focus in on that “thing” and it’s all you can see. By taking a step back you can get the bigger picture and start seeing all the other things that’s going on around you. When you focus on what’s happening in your peripheral vision, the things that you can see out the side of your eyes, perhaps even visualising what’s behind you. Peripheral vision allows you to see object all around you without turning or moving your eyes. When you’re in a position that makes you feel threatened, fight, flight or freeze, you are focused on what’s in front of you, your in foveal vision, when you start to use your peripheral vision your mind/body starts to feel more relaxed as it realises there is no threat. So when you feel anxious or scared then start to look around you without moving your head or your eyes. Just close your eyes and visualise what you can see, including what’s behind you. Marina
