Advent Day 4![]()
PUT ON YOUR DANCING SHOES![]()
Stick your favourite play list on, shut your curtains if you like, and have a good dance around the house. If you like slow music put that on to help lower your heart if it’s racing. Or turn up the sound on something a little faster to help you feel uplifted. ![]()
It helps reduce your body’s stress response and it activates the brains reward system which releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin to help lower anxiety.![]()

🤔 Do You Find Yourself Overthinking Conversations or Future Events? 🤔![]()
Have you ever caught yourself replaying a conversation in your head, analysing every little thing you said? ![]()
Or worrying about an event that you have coming up, thinking through all the possible ‘what-ifs’? ![]()
This is a common experience for people with anxiety. ![]()
Overthinking can be exhausting, especially when your mind focuses on things you can’t change (like the past) or things you can’t control (like the future). It’s almost like your brain is trying to “solve” a problem that may not even be there. ![]()
If this sounds familiar to you then here are a few grounding tips to try. ![]()
🧘♀️ Focus on what you can control: Taking small steps, like jotting down what went well, can help shift your mind.![]()
⏰ Set a time limit on your worries: Give yourself a few minutes to worry, then consciously make a decision to do a different activity. ![]()
📓 Write down what is worrying you and set aside a time later when you can go through the list and do it all at once. ![]()
☺️ Practice self-compassion: Remind yourself that it’s okay not to have everything “figured out.”![]()
What things do you do to help break the cycle of overthinking? I deliberately go and do something else or will sing a song in my head. ![]()
